Recognition of Diploma

There are two principal processes of diploma recognition at VŠE, namely recognition of education abroad for the purpose of the admission procedure and recognition of foreign higher education and qualification in the Czech Republic.

In the case of the recognition of education abroad for the purpose of the admission procedure, pursuant to Section 48(4) to (6) of the Higher Education Act, VŠE may itself assess whether the applicant’s education attained abroad meets the legal condition for admission to studies. In order to use this procedure, the applicant is required to fill in an electronic application, pay the fee in accordance with instructions in the application and send notarised copies of documents proving their education together with an official translation to the Czech or English language via regular mail. Details are available under the link below.

Recognition of foreign higher education and qualification in the Czech Republic is carried out by VŠE for graduates of foreign universities’ degree programmes that have similar content. The procedure shall be initiated upon a written application of a graduate of a foreign university (the applicant) submitted to the Registry of VŠE Prague, W. Churchill sq. 4, Prague 3. The application shall be made solely on a designated form, which must be accompanied by a) legally attested copy of a diploma or similar document about graduation; b) Diploma Supplement or list of completed exams; c) supplementary information confirming that the degree programme was carried out by an institution authorised to provide education comparable to higher education pursuant to Act. Specific requirements are published under the link below.
